indicator-session-gtk2 software package provides indicator showing session management, status and user switching, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install indicator-session-gtk2
indicator-session-gtk2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the indicator-session-gtk2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep indicator-session-gtk2 *
You will get with indicator-session-gtk2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
